SWEET UMBRIA (5 DNI)

The miniature towns situated on the tips of the hills, vast forests, and vineyards, numerous lakes, rivers, and waterfalls, the abundance of flora and fauna make up for the atmosphere of this picturesque region often called the green heart of Italy. Our trip will allow us to learn about the rich history of Umbria, first-class historical sites, linked with fascinating history, exquisite and amazing cuisine depending on the season and fantastic wines. The trip will certainly leave you with many positive impressions.

Trip plan

DAY 1:

Arrival at Assisi, dinner at a hotel and the overnight stay.

DAY 2:

After breakfast, departure to Perugia – this is where we will visit the most important monuments of the city, amongst others: Piazza IV Novembre, cathedral, Palazzo Comunale and Maggiore fountain. In the afternoon, we will transfer to Assisi – one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Italy. Arrival at a hotel, dinner and the overnight stay.

DAY 3:

After breakfast, we will transfer to Assisi. The most important monument of the city is undoubtedly the Basilica of Saint Francis, in which the remains of the saint patron are located. Following the sightseeing in the afternoon hours, we will transfer to Gubbio, which is one of the most characteristic town of Umbria. Its medieval character reflects the region’s spirit. Gubbio is the city of the saints and blessed, also known for the Candles festival, which takes place each May. After visiting the most important monuments, we will retire to a hotel and the overnight stay.

DAY 4:

After breakfast at a hotel, we will transfer to a medieval Spello town. It is often called the city of flowers, since each year for the Corpus Christi procession, the locals decorate the streets with flower carpets. After visiting the centre and taking photos up from the hill, we will head to Spoleto. During the walk here, we will explore the most important monuments of this Umbrian town: cathedral, the Roman house and the Arch of Druzus. After the walk at the end of the incredible day, we will invite you to Cascatadelle Marmore waterfall, located near Terni – St. Valentine’s town. This is the biggest attraction of the town. This 165-meter waterfall is one of the largest and the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe. He was also an inspiration to Cycerone and Vergilius. We will head for a short walk to the view-point and we will have a chance to admire its beauty from the above. In the evening, we will transfer to a hotel, have dinner and the overnight stay.

DAY 5:

After breakfast, we will transfer to Orvieto, which is famous for its most beautiful cathedral in Umbria. The cathedral had been constructed for about 300 years and its pretty-ornamented façade is believed to be one of the most magnificent in the world. Free time allocated after visiting the town and a return back home.
