We will start the tour in one of the most beautiful towns in northern Dalmatia, which is Zadar. It is a vibrant tourist destination which welcomes thousands of tourists every year. It is best known for its sunsets thought to be most beautiful at the Adriatic coast. During a guided walking tour we will explore the history of the town, which dates back to 4^thcentury B.C. Back then, an Illyrian settlement was established here that was transformed into a Roman town Jadera 300 years later. Located on the peninsula, the old town is a true open-air museum itself. The buildings date back to Antiquity, Roman and Gothic eras as well as to the lavish Baroque. We will also have a chance to enjoy the maritime music that can be heard on the Zadar promenade. After some free time we will make our way to Nin – a tiny town located in a shallow lagoon on an equally tiny island. It is the oldest town in Croatia, whose history dates back to 3,000 years. The main landmark of Nin is the Holy Cross Church, which is considered to be the smallest church in the world. Nin is also famous for its sandy beaches and for the healing mud, which attracts many tourists. The local salt pans are well known for producing one of the most organic types of salt in the world. Salt is produced here in the same traditional way it used to be manufactured centuries ago. We will explore the production process of this “white gold” and afterwards we will visit the museum of salt and goon a shopping spree, in search for some local products.
