Our adventure will start in Poreč town. Next to Pula and Rovinj, it is one of the most popular and most frequently visited place in Istria. The historic old town is proud of the precious historic site – early Byzantium Euphrasian Basilica, which is inscribed on the UNESCO list and attracts thousands of tourists from different parts of the world each year. Poreč’s old town is made up by light-coloured buildings and palaces with orange roofs, winced streets, numerous restaurants from which a tempting smell of the food being prepared fills the air as well as small shops with colourful souvenirs and many artists offering tourists multi-coloured paintings. With the licensed guide, we will stroll down the historic streets and cul-de-sacs of this charming town.
After leisure time, we will make our way to a farm, where we will see the household animals being bred in a natural environment; goose, hens, ducks, goats, and swines. We will also see how vegetables, fruit, and Mediterranean plants are cultivated, including herbs. We will also have a chance to taste a fantastic honey product. The host will present us with the history of the household, which includes the generations of one family. They will also talk us through the honey production process and we will get to know about their nutritional values. We will have a chance to taste the products that had received high-quality food awards on multiple occasions. The real delicacy is amongst others creamy honey with added Mediterranean herbs cultivated on the farm. All products are grown sustainably. They have health benefits, although they also serve an everyday use. Following the presentation, we will embark on a tasting experience of local sustainable delicacies:
