Ulcinj is a town located in Montenegro. It has beautifully positioned Old Town to the north off the municipal beach. Amongst narrow alleys, this is the secret place of the best restaurants in town and the most remarkable corners. An incredible nature of this town is provided by numerous historic sites dating back to the times of the Greek, the Roman, the Byzantian or the Turks. Rich in history, the mixture of Catholic, Orthodox and Muslim culture and its inhabitants; mostly Albanians – Islam followers; affect the view of the today’s town and its character. By strolling down the winding and stony streets, we will find numerous buildings of Roman, Gothic and Renaissance architecture with obvious oriental influences. Throughout the history, Ulcinj used to be also a seat of Albanian pirates.
