We welcome you for a demonstration of a home-made bread called ‘peka’ (kruh ispod peke). Peka is strongly related to the traditional Croatian cuisine. It is a big bell-shaped cast iron lid with a handle on top. After covering the dish, which is placed in an enamelled, tinned or steel-forged dish, ‘the bell’ is layered with rings of different sizes that prevent the hot ash from slipping down when the metal lid is being sprinkled. The prepared dishes and the ‘peka’-style baked bread gain an exquisite and unforgettable taste.
The landlady will demonstrate how to conjure up this miraculous bread by using four basic ingredients, which will take you back to your childhood with its taste and aroma. Following the demonstration, the bread tasting experience awaits us along with Dalmatian prosciutto, cheese, and a glass of wine.
