We will start today’s adventure at the heart of the Istria peninsula. Traditionally dressed hosts will welcome us in the scenic view of nature and will also talk us through the work on the estate belonging to their family for many generations. The stories will be accompanied by aperitif made of lavender liquor and lavender chocolate cookies. After this delicious mini-presentation and tasting experience, we will head for the lavender planting site, where we will have a chance to pick the marvellously scented flowers and calm our senses with the smell and colour of the noble plant. We will experience how powerful these little purple flowers are. Lavender has been known and used back in Ancient times. It was used by the ancient Greeks and Romans for aroma beauty and therapy baths. Within the royal yards, ladies use the lavender oil as a rejuvenating skin product. Lavender has a calming effect on our nervous system, as it fights fatigue and helps with sleeping. It is also an excellent antibacterial agent and helps with appetite. It is incredible how valuable this inconspicuous plant is. The farming works will be accompanied by local music vibes performed by local artists. The most persevering ones will receive a surprise gift.
