Prosciutto ham is one of the largest Istrian delicacies appreciated by food lovers all over the world. It is produced from pork meat, which originates from advanced farming, which pays particular attention to feeding hogs. The ham is made from pork leg that is being cured in salt and dried in the forest outside for a few months. In addition, the meat is specially aromatised with Mediterranean spices; bay leaf, rosemary, pepper, and garlic. It has a distinctive smell and incredible taste. The local prosciutto is at the forefront of the regional gastronomy and it is a traditional starter here.
During our visit to the site, we will have a chance to learn about the meat curing process in detail, and also taste other products from one of the most popular producers. In this idyllic countryside scenery, amongst olive trees, we will taste the finest home-made products. In our spare time, we will stroll around the olive tree groves and observe domestic animals.
