Our grapes harvesting is planned in the beautiful scenery of Istrian vineyards and forests in the vicinity of Motovun town. The grapevine cultivation is deeply rooted in the peninsular history and tradition, dating back even to the Ancient times. Istria is one of the most developed winemaking regions, which is not only proud of indigenous types but also world-renowned brands.
Today, wine is an integral part of the local culture and tradition. The Mediterranean cuisine is described as one of the healthiest ones in the world and you cannot imagine it without having a glass of good wine. It is accompanied with starters like prosciutto or cheese. Wine is served with meat or fish dishes. It is an essential addition to such dishes as pasta, risotto, and deserts. Upon our arrival, we will head to the vineyard along with the host, where we will have a chance to see how the grape harvesting work is like in the season. We will have a chance to offer help with harvesting. At noon, we will set off for a regional-style snack. In a nice atmosphere and a good company, we will taste the local specialties. Later, we will move to the wine cellar, where we will observe the winemaking process. We will explore the required processes for the ‘God’s nectar’ to be produced. The hosts will also tell us about the history of this grapevine cultivation. After finished work, it will be time to relax and enjoy the well-deserved dinner. In front of the vineyard and out in nature, we will taste the original-styled dishes.
